Frilo statik4/28/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Looking into the Spectral Acceleration Plot (Source Semisoft) first peak occurred at around 0.5-0.6 Secs and second peak occurred at around 1.2 Secs with maximum SA>2.1g. ![]() ::The Spectral Acceleration of Turkey EQ at around 0.1 Sec is 0.78g which is unbelievable. Similarities between Gorkha and Turkey Earthquakes. Spectral velocity is an important measure that helps estimating structural damage and reaches high values even at low periods (0.90 cm/s2 at T = 0.36s). Yet, the spectral accelerations are still comparable to design spectra at DBE and MCE levels. Spectral accelerations reach high values at low periods - which probably coincide with the period of low rise RC buildings. This is a station with one of the highest PGA (except one with almost 2g - not sure if this is a reliable data). Spectral accelerations are compared with those at Design and Maximum Considered Earthquake levels for Hatay province defined in Turkish Seismic Design Code. Here are the spectral acceleration, acceleration time history, spectral velocity, and velocity time histories for #Turkey #Earthquake (1st earthquake) measured at station 3137 in Hatay. I came across confusing information about the ground motion record of Pazarcik (Kahramanmaras) earthquake on the web and decided to analyze one record. ![]()
